Alpine X801D-U 8-inch Head Unit with VW Fascia

Description

Got this Alpine X801D-U in my VW T5 Caravelle and it’s been working great for music and phone calls. The 8-inch screen is a nice upgrade over the smaller ones, and it fits really well in the dash with the VW fascia that came with it.

The only thing is, the GPS stopped working a while back. When I press the GPS button, the screen just goes blank. I’ve found out it’s usually a fault with the GPS board, and one seller on eBay offers a replacement board — that fixes it. So it’s not dead, just needs a bit of tweaking.

Everything else works fine — streaming, Bluetooth, phone connectivity, all that. The unit is a single DIN, so it should fit other VWs from 2010 to 2016. The VW fascia is specific to this model and the one that came with it cost about £85 on its own.
