So, I’ve got this 2017 Ford Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 TDCi diesel pickup here — it’s a solid base model, and it starts and runs fine. That said, it’s had a bit of side damage, so it’s not in pristine condition. I’ve got it stored at a salvage yard in Braunton, North Devon, and it’s been through an insurance claim.

If you’re looking at it, I’d really recommend coming over and seeing it in person. I don’t want anyone to get the wrong idea — this isn’t a showroom car. It’s a salvage vehicle, so there’s no warranty, no guarantee of how it’ll hold up long-term, and it’s not road-ready until it’s fully repaired and meets all legal standards.

If you’re thinking about buying it, I’d suggest bringing your own mechanic or engineer to check it out. The description I give over the phone or online is just a quick summary — it doesn’t cover everything. I’ve seen a lot of these, and I’ve had to go through the same thing: the HPI records might show it as clear at one point, but eventually it’ll get recorded, so it’s worth doing your own check.

It’s not for public roads right now — you’ll need to get it fully fixed and get a new MOT once it’s done. The engine and gearbox aren’t guaranteed to last, and there’s no promise on things like the interior trim, spare wheel, or navigation data — all of that’s been stored elsewhere before we picked it up.
