1950s Brexton Picnic Set
Description
I’ve had this Brexton picnic set for years—my mum used to take it on family trips to the hills, and it’s been sitting in my attic ever since. It’s a solid 1950s English piece, all original and in great condition. The suitcase is a retro hard-sided one with a cream handle and that classic mid-century hardware, and when you open it up, everything’s neatly arranged inside.Inside you’ll find all the original bits: ceramic plates with those cheeky mid-century drawings, ivory-handled cutlery, plastic-covered lunch boxes, thermos flasks, mugs, and little condiment jars. The leatherette straps are still in good shape, and the whole thing feels like it’s been used but never worn out.
It’s not just a picnic set—it’s a real piece of the 50s, with that soft, warm plastic and the vintage graphics that just bring back memories. I’ve kept it clean and stored it properly, so it’s ready to go either as a display piece or for a real outdoor get-together.
It’s from Hillsborough, Penistone Road North—so if you’re local and interested, I’m happy to chat. I’m not charging much, just £108. It’s a little piece of history I’ve kept for myself, and now I’m finally parting with it.
