Got this Miele Novotronic W853 washing machine and it’s been working fine for years — just needs a bit of TLC. It’s a 5kg front-loading freestanding unit, plumbed in and runs smoothly most of the time. I’ve tried it with a few loads and it handles the wash cycle well, though it does make a bit of a banging noise when spinning, especially with a heavy load. I thought it might be the bearings, but someone told me it’s more likely the shock absorbers — I’d probably need to replace those, but I’ve not got time to do it. The motor itself is fine, just the dampeners aren’t holding up. I’ve got it set up at isle-of-cumbrae, 11, and I’m happy to collect it from there — no hassle, just a quick handover. If you’ve got a similar machine or just want to swap out the shocks, I’m open to a chat. Price’s £27, but I’m not going to say it out loud — just thought I’d share it.
