2007 Volkswagen Golf GTI MK5
Description
So, I’ve had this Golf GTI for just over two years now, and honestly, it’s been one of the most reliable cars I’ve ever driven. It’s not flashy, but it’s solid — I’ve kept it well maintained, and it’s been through regular servicing with receipts to prove it.It came with a previous owner who had it for seven years, and the MOT runs until 26th January 2026. The car’s been well looked after, so it’s got a clean service history and no major issues.
Inside, it’s got leather heated seats, a tilt-and-slide sunroof, and those cool paddle shifts — the DSG gearbox is a real treat. Climate control and a newer head unit are both upgraded. I’ve also added a cruise control module (it’s coded, just needs the module to be reinstalled), and there’s a Kenwood under-seat subwoofer that’s been installed.
I did a few interior upgrades myself: reupholstered the headliner with black alcantara (it was sagging), added a RAM Air induction kit, restitched the steering wheel (black and red), and installed an Eonon VWA12S wireless CarPlay unit. The tracklag 3” downpipe is also there — that was done by the previous owner, not sure what stage exactly.
That said, a few things aren’t perfect: the driver’s seat bolster is starting to wear, the AC needs a recharge, the passenger seat belt sensor sometimes goes off on its own, and the wheels could do with a refresh.
There are some normal age-related marks and stone chips — you’d expect that from a 2007 car. It’s not a show car, it’s just a solid daily driver. I’ve used it every day, so it’s got around 127k miles and will keep growing.
I’m not selling it to everyone — first person to actually test drive it will take it. It drives and handles really well. Four previous owners, including me. Black, five doors. I’ve been keeping it in good shape, and it’s been a joy to drive.
It’s in Kenilworth, Warwick — easy to get to if you’re around. Price is £4,590 — fair, I think.
