Description

I’ve had this Bateson 3 or 300V box trailer for a few years now, and it’s been pretty solid through all sorts of jobs — from moving stuff around the farm to carrying loads around construction sites. It’s got a galvanised steel frame with a steel internal structure, and the lashing rings are right above the floor, which makes securing loads a lot easier.

The sides are lined with steel tophat rails to keep things stable, and the sides are panelled with high-gloss glass fibre plywood — one piece, no gaps. The floor is 18mm phenol coated, non-slip, and the roof is translucent glass fibre. Front end is glass fibre too, with an 18mm ply bulkhead that also has little storage pockets for things like ropes or straps.

One of the nice bits is the spare wheel and carrier built in — plus that clever mirror that lets you see the hitch and tow ball while coupling. No more fiddling or bumping the bumper. It comes with auto-reversing brakes, a cast coupling, and a jockey wheel. The Avonride Softride axles mean it rides smoothly even when empty.

The axles are galvanised, mudguards are sealed to the body, and the ends have those tough, damage-resistant mouldings. The lights are all in one neat unit, mounted on steel brackets with a waterproof box and plug (N7 or 13 pin).

Gross weight 2000kg, unladen 600kg, so it can carry up to 1400kg. Dimensions: external 4340 x 2030 x 2280mm, internal 2960 x 1480 x 1750mm. Tyres are 165 x 13.

I’ve kept it well maintained, and it’s still under the full manufacturer’s warranty with ongoing support.

It’s based in Newcastle-Emlyn, Carmarthenshire, and I’m happy to show it around — just give me a call and we can sort something out. I’ll take cash, card, or personal cheque (needs to be cleared before collection).

Photos are just for reference — the vehicles in there aren’t mine, just illustrative. There are other Bateson models if you’re interested, but this one’s been my go-to for years.

£6,102.00 — it’s not cheap, but it’s reliable and I’ve used it on a fair bit of work. If you’re looking for something solid and practical, this one’s worth a look.
