So, I’ve been looking at my car collection for a while and decided to part with this 2013 Polo Match Edition – it’s been in one family since 2018, and honestly, it’s been a real joy to drive. Bright red, which makes it stand out on the road, and it’s the higher-spec Match Edition with all the good bits: aircon, alloy wheels, DAB radio, cruise control, rear parking sensors, electric windows, power steering, traction control, and even a CD player with AUX – I still use that to play my old music when I’m on long drives.

It’s got that 1.2-litre TDI engine, which means it’s a bit of a fuel saviour – I’ve never had to top up more than once in a month, and it’s only ever cost £20 a year in road tax.
