1980 Pioneer HiFi Stereo System with Turntable and Speakers

I’ve had this 1980 Pioneer stereo system for years — it’s one of those pieces that just feels like it belongs in a retro living room. It’s a full setup: the SX-590 receiver, PL-512 turntable, CT-F500 cassette deck, and the original Wharfedale DENTON XP2 speakers in the cabinet. All of it’s been tucked away in a corner of my living room, mostly dusted and rarely used since I bought it.

It’s not flashy, but it’s solid. The turntable and receiver work fine, and the speakers still play well — just like they did back in the day. The cassette deck does power on, but the drive belts have stretched over time. I’ve checked it out, and it’s not a big deal, just needs a bit of maintenance. I’ve never used it much, so it’s been well cared for.

I’ve got the original Pioneer manuals and the Hi-Fi handbook — both are still in good shape and included. It’s not a super rare find, but it’s one of the few full Pioneer systems from that era still in working order.
