Description

Hey, so I’m thinking of parting with my Dave Lumb P-1 rod — it’s a 12ft, 2.75lb model on a Harrison blank with Fuji guides and a real seat. I picked it up a couple of years ago just as a hobby, kind of hoping to get into dead baiting and maybe one day try Chew Lake. But honestly, it’s never actually been used — not even touched the water or the bank.

It’s been stored in its original rod bag (the one I bought to keep it safe), and it’s still looking pretty sharp. Photos show it’s clean overall, though there’s one tiny mark on one of the guide wraps and a small scuff near the tip area — both look like they came from storage, not use. The tip has a bit of a matt finish there, which I’m not sure how that happened, but it’s not affecting performance.

I’ve used this rod for everything from livebaits to drifting, and it’s proven itself on a few big catches — pike up to 36lb, zander near 15lb, even a 52lb catfish. It’s got that soft action for casting livebaits without spitting them out, and the middle and butt have enough punch for half-baits and heavier leads. I’ve even used it for drifting, and it works well.

It’s not just a nice rod — it’s one of the best all-round predator rods out there, designed specifically for pike anglers who don’t want to overwork their gear. And it’s been through a fair bit of abuse, which is exactly what it’s meant to take.

It’s in the original bag, ready to go. I’ve got it stored in Middleton-st-George, Darlington, and I’ll just need to get it out and deliver it. Price is £189 — I’ll keep it simple and not go overboard with offers, just want to make sure it goes to someone who actually knows what it’s for. If you’ve got any questions, just ask. No silly offers, thanks.
