I’ve got this Janod hippo ride-on — it’s one of those wooden toys that just feels right. My little one has been riding it non-stop since she was 12 months old, and it’s honestly helped her learn how to balance without feeling overwhelmed.

It’s got ergonomic handles that fit small hands, silent rubber wheels (so no scuffing the floor), and the head has a storage spot — perfect for tucking in her toys or a soft blanket. It’s not flashy, but it’s solid and kind of funny-looking, which makes it feel like a real friend.

The seat is 24cm high, and it’s 60cm long — not too big, not too small. It’s made from wood (ply and solid), with silicone handles and rubber wheels. In very good condition, just like it was when I bought it.

I’m moving to Seaford, Lewes, so it’s going to be collected from there. I’ll pay £18 cash when you come to pick it up — just say the word. No fancy packaging, no fuss — just a toy that’s actually been used and loved.
