Description

I’ve got this Marsh Ensign 8-person gravity sewage treatment plant — it’s brand new, never used, and honestly, I just changed my mind about needing it. It’s sitting in Greenhithe, Dartford, so if you’re local and can make it over, I’m happy to deliver or pick it up near Long Stratton, south of Norwich.

It’s designed for up to 8 people, so if you’re in a small house or a family home, this could be a solid fit. Dimensions are around 2602mm long, 1650mm wide (give or take 50mm), and 1935mm high — the depth to the inlet is 550mm, and there’s a 75mm drop from inlet to outlet. The pipes are 110mm diameter, and the effluent quality comes in at BOD5: 11.5 mg/l, NH4: 8.4 mg/l, and SS: 19.2 mg/l — good enough to meet both UK and European standards (EN12566:3-2005).

It runs on gravity, so no pumps, no noisy motors — just quiet, efficient, and nearly odourless. The base self-levels, which makes installation a lot easier, and there are lifting eyes so it’s safe to move around. The pipe fittings are cleverly designed, meaning you don’t need a lot of extra work to connect it.

Made with 100% virgin resin, no chalk fillers — so it’s sustainable and feels a bit more responsible than most units. I’ve read the guidelines and know it needs to be placed at least 7m from a dwelling or 10m from a stream, so you’ll want to make sure that fits your layout.

I’m not selling it because I’ve moved, just because it’s not quite what I needed. It’s been stored, not touched, and the only thing I’ve done is check the manuals and confirm it’s all in working order. If you’re in the area or can make it over, I’d be happy to chat or arrange a pick-up. It’s a solid piece — and the price is £1,980, but that’s just a number I didn’t want to hide.
