2013 Yamaha YZF-R125

So, I’ve got this 2013 Yamaha YZF-R125 sitting in my garage in Salcombe, East Portlemouth – it’s been sitting there for a few years now, mostly just getting the dust off, but I’ve been meaning to get it out and share it with someone who actually likes riding.

It’s not a showroom bike, it’s not flashy or perfect – it’s a real one, with a bit of history. I know it’s been through a rough patch – it was stolen, recovered, and the mileage got a bit off, which means the dash was replaced between 2020 and 2025. That’s something I’ve noted in the MOT history, and I’ll share the full details if you’re interested.

That said, it runs well, starts up fine, and has been properly maintained. The chain and sprocket are good, the tyres are solid (I’ve had brand-new front and rear ones fitted recently), and it’s got a semi-digital dash, LED indicators, a front spoiler, tinted windscreen, and gold brake callipers – all the little bits that make it feel like a proper track machine.

I’ve had it checked properly, and it’s had a long MOT – just not the cleanest one, but it’s still safe and reliable. The Akrapovic exhaust is on it and it sounds great, especially when you’re riding down a quiet road.

I didn’t put it up for sale because I didn’t think anyone would actually want to ride it – but now that I’ve thought about it, I figured if it’s got potential, someone might just find it useful.

I’m not selling it because I need cash – I’m just letting it go because I’ve moved on to something else. It’s not a high-performance track bike, but it’s a solid, fun little machine for a weekend ride or a daily commute.
