Description

So this old Citroen C1 is sitting in my garage in Newton-Aycliffe, Great Aycliffe, and honestly, I’ve been meaning to part with it for a while now. It’s a 2010 model, 3 doors, manual gearbox — the kind of car you’d get if you were just trying to get around without much fuss.

It’s got 81k miles on it, which is nothing to write home about, and it’s been through a proper overhaul last year. Got a full service done and a few key bits replaced — new anti-roll bar link, fresh air and pollen filters, a new boot, and a brand new Aplus tyre (155/65 R14). The engine’s been flushed and topped up with fresh Castrol 5W30, and I’ve had it scanned — everything’s passed, no red flags.

MOT runs until the end of 2025, so it’s got a solid warranty on that. There’s a few little things I noticed during the service: a bit of corrosion on the front and rear coil springs, some wear on the rear sub-frame pins, a minor oil leak at the front, and a small exhaust leak at the back. The headlight lenses have a bit of scuffing too — nothing major, just things you’d expect from a car that’s been around for a while.

I’ve done the work myself and it’s all been properly documented. The car runs smoothly, doesn’t cough, and I’ve kept it well maintained. It’s not flashy, but it’s reliable. I’m not selling it for a quick cash grab — it’s just that I’ve moved and don’t need it anymore.

If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, no-frills hatchback that’s been looked after, this one’s actually pretty solid. I’d say it’s worth a look if you’re not planning on driving it daily.

(Price is £1,035 — I’ll keep it in the description because I don’t want to over-explain, but I’m not putting it in the title.)
