Description

So, I’ve had this van for a few years now — it’s basically my second home on the road. It’s a 2014 VW Transporter T5.1, converted into a proper 2-berth campervan, and it’s been a real joy to use. I bought it in the Isles of Scilly, England, and it’s been through a lot — but not in a bad way.

Inside, it’s got a solid rock-and-roll bed that sleeps two without a struggle, a full kitchenette with hob, sink, fridge, and storage — all you need for a quick meal or a coffee in the morning. There’s a diesel heater, so even in winter it stays warm and cosy. Blackout curtains mean you can have a bit of privacy when you’re out on the move. The interior is wood-effect finish with diamond-stitched leather seats — front and back — looks nice and feels good.

Outside, it’s got sleek grey paint with colour-coded bumpers, alloy wheels, roof rails, side steps, and a tow bar. The windows are tinted, so you don’t feel like you’re under a spotlight at night. Under the hood, it’s a reliable 2.0 TDI engine — 134,000 miles, which is actually not that bad for a van of this type. It drives smooth, hasn’t had any major issues, and I’ve kept it well looked after.

It used to be Category S (formerly Cat C) because of an accident, but it’s been professionally repaired — all the paperwork and photos are on hand if you want to check it out.

I’ve used it for everything from coastal walks in the Isles of Scilly to festival trips and long drives across the country. The diesel heater means it’s usable all year round — which is a huge plus. Compared to other T5.1 conversions, it’s actually quite a good deal, especially with everything built in and ready to go.

I’m not selling it for a big price — it’s £16,200 — but it’s been a real part of my life, and I’m happy to share it with someone who’s into the road life. If you’ve ever wanted a van that’s ready to roll, and not just a car with a roof, this one’s for you.
