Stentor 1/2 Violin with Gig Bag and Wooden Bow

Description

Hey, I’ve been keeping this violin around for a while now — it’s a Stentor Student 1, which is basically a solid entry-level violin for beginners. The top is spruce, back and sides are maple, and it’s carved properly, not just glued together — gives it a bit more character and sound. The finish is mid-brown varnish, and the fingerboard’s ebonised with a straight grain, which feels smooth to play on.

It comes with the gig bag (with shoulder strap and internal storage for rosin and bows), and a wooden bow — all in the photos. The bridge, tailpiece, and strings aren’t included though, and the pics show that clearly. I’ve actually used it a few times, so it’s not just sitting in a cupboard.

I bought it new about five years ago when I was learning, and it’s been a solid companion. It’s worth nearly £130 new, but I’m letting it go now because I’ve moved on to a different instrument. It’s in excellent condition, just like it’s shown — no dents, no cracks, just needs those bits added.

P.S. It’s not a cheap instrument by any means, but it’s a good one for someone starting out. I’d probably still pick it over a cheaper model if I had to choose.
