I’ve had this old mahogany washstand for years — it’s been in my family for generations, so it’s got a lot of character. The marble top is a bit worn, and there’s a brown handle that’s a little chipped, but it’s still really solid. The cabinet opens up nicely and the whole thing fits perfectly in the corner of my bathroom. It’s 130cm high, 90.5cm long, and 45.5cm wide — big enough to hold all my basics, but not too bulky. I found a few woodworm marks, which I’ve sealed up, so it’s safe to use now. I’m moving to kelty, Fife, and it’s just easier to part with it than keep it in storage. It’s not fancy, but it’s honest — a real piece of history. I’ve kept it well, and it’s been a real part of my home. If you’ve got a room that needs a touch of old-school charm, this might just be it.
