Apple HomePod (2nd Gen) Midnight – 2023 Model
Description
I’m parting with my Apple HomePod (2nd generation) — the full-sized one, not the Mini — in its original box, with just a tiny bit of use. It’s the Midnight version, so it looks clean and modern, and it’s been sitting in my Westbury, Wiltshire home for a few years now. It’s got that nice rich sound — not just loud, but balanced, with clear vocals and a solid bass. The 4-inch woofer and beamforming tweeters work well, and the spatial audio (especially with Apple Music) is actually pretty impressive. I’ve used it with my iPhone and Apple TV, and it plays smooth with everything.
The top touch panel is super handy — you can adjust volume and skip tracks without picking up your phone, and the lights up when Siri is active. It’s also got Siri, HomeKit, and even built-in sensors for temperature and humidity, so I can set up little automations. Plus, it can detect smoke or CO alarms and send alerts — useful for a house with kids.
It’s got the Apple S7 chip, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and Thread support — so it works well with the latest Apple devices, especially iPhones 8 and up. I’ve used it with AirPlay 2 and even paired two units for stereo sound.
The original power cable is still in the box — I keep it around for easy swaps. It’s been well cared for, no scratches, and the mesh panel is in great shape.
I’ve been using it for a while, and honestly, it’s one of the best smart speakers I’ve come across — not flashy, but genuinely good at what it does. It fits right in with my Apple setup.
Price is £180 — if you’re in the market for a smart speaker that actually sounds good and works well with your existing Apple devices, this is a solid option. Located in Westbury, Wiltshire.
