1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Saloon Manual
Description
Got this 1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II for my dad’s birthday – it’s actually a proper classic, not some showpiece. Only 32,800 miles, still looks like it’s been kept in a quiet garage with a bit of love. Nutmeg brown with silver sand trim and dark brown leather seats – the carpets have lambs wool overlays, which is a nice touch. It’s been well looked after over the years. I’ve got the full service history: 15 stamps from Appleyard Rippon back in the day, then through to Shadow Vehicle Services, both Rolls Royce specialists. All the invoices and MOTs are still in the file, plus the original warranty card and stereo and climate control instruction sheets – you can actually see how it was built, not just how it’s been parked.
I’ve lived in Hawkinge, Folkestone and Hythe District for years now, so this is actually my local car – I’ve driven it a few times on quiet roads, and it’s solid. It’s got ABS, climate control, and safety belt pretensioners – nothing flashy, just reliable.
I’m a family guy – my dad used to drive these things, and I’ve always been into cars. We’ve run a small garage here for over 50 years, and we’ve done everything from classic restorations to modern servicing. We do all the checks, including HPI, so you know it’s clean and clear. No hidden issues.
If you’re someone who values a quiet, refined drive and a car that actually feels like it was meant to be driven – this one’s for you. I’m not pushing it, just sharing it. The price is £22,500 – fair, I think. But if you're not into classics, it’s not really for you. Just a solid, well-kept piece of history.
