electric guitar
Description
Got this Fender Japan MG65VSP sitting in my garage in Maybole, South Ayrshire — it’s one of those rare vintage-style guitars from the 2008–2010 range. I’ve played it for years, mostly in my bedroom setup, and it’s been a solid companion for a lot of practice sessions. It’s not a flashy model, but it’s got that classic Mustang vibe — the mid-60s look, with a poplar body and a maple neck that’s still pretty straight. The rosewood fingerboard feels smooth, and the vintage grey bobbin pickup gives a clean, bright tone without being too sharp.I remember the first time I picked it up — the transition logo on the headstock really reminded me of the original models. The tremolo system works well too, and I’ve used it for light vibrato effects. The hardware’s worn in nicely, especially the button F key pegs — they’ve aged to a nice patina. There’s a bit of scuffing and dents from years of use, but nothing major. The neck stays true, and I’ve kept the truss rod in good shape.
I don’t know the exact year it was made — it’s not stamped clearly — but it’s definitely from that MG65 VSP run, which is a bit rare. It’s not perfect, but it’s played, loved, and still works well. I’m not selling it to get cash — I just need to part with it now. It’s worth about £900, but I’m not going to say that out loud. If you’re into vintage-style electric guitars and like a solid, reliable player that doesn’t demand much maintenance, this one’s for you.
