Men’s mountain bike – Merida Big Nine 500 TFS 29er hard tail

I’m getting rid of this old mountain bike I’ve had for a few years – it’s a Merida Big Nine 500 TFS 29er from 2013, hard tail, 21” frame in XL size. It’s been used regularly but still runs really well and looks solid. I’ve kept it well-maintained, so it’s in very good condition.

The frame is 6061 aluminium, with an SR 29 XCR RL 100 fork and OS cartridge headset. Stem’s a Merida Comp 1, and it’s got a full Shimano Deore setup – front and rear brakes, chainset, and drivetrain. I’ve got the M522 octa chainset (42-32-24), Shimano M446 disc brakes on both ends, and the rims are Big Nine Pro D. Hubs are Shimano M435.

It’s a quality bike, not flashy, but it’s been reliable on trails and rides. I’ve actually used it quite a bit in the riding-mill, Dene Close area – plenty of local trails and hills. I’m not looking for much, just a simple, solid bike that’s been well cared for.

I’ve had it for a few years now and it’s time to move on. It’s worth £247.50, but I’m not selling it as a “deal” – just letting it go. If you’re into mountain biking and looking for something solid and reliable, it might be worth a look.
