2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA 1.6 AMG Line SUV 5-door Petrol Manual
Description
So, I’ve been driving this 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA for about two years now, and honestly, it’s one of those cars that just feels right. It’s not flashy, but it has that quiet confidence you get when you know you’re behind the wheel of something with a real character. The body’s black with 19-inch alloy wheels in that AMG 5-spoke design—titanium grey finish, shiny as new. I always get a bit of a smile when I see it on the road, especially when people glance over and go, “Whoa, that’s a proper GLA.”
Under the hood, it’s a 1.6L petrol engine with 154 horsepower—more than enough for everyday driving, even if you’re doing the occasional hill climb or long stretch of motorway. It’s got Euro 6 compliance, so it’s clean and efficient, and I’ve only done 32,957 miles on it.
Inside, it’s solid—air conditioning works great, no matter how hot or cold it gets outside. The seats are comfortable, and the cabin feels well put together. There’s a decent amount of space, especially with the rear seats folding down to make it usable for camping or moving stuff around.
I’ve noticed the fuel economy is actually pretty good—around 47.1mpg—which means you’re not spending a fortune on petrol. And the road tax is just £190 a year, so it’s not a big financial burden.
It’s got a lot of safety features: ABS, ESP, brake assist, adaptive cruise, and even that active bonnet that lifts when it detects a potential collision. The mirrors are electric and heated, and the front ones have LED indicators. The keyless entry works smoothly, and I’ve never had a problem with the doors locking or unlocking.
The interior is clean, with chrome trim, illuminated door sills, and a 20-inch radio with Bluetooth and Mercedes Me Connect. There’s also a trip computer showing fuel consumption, which I use to keep track of how I’m driving.
I’ve used it for family trips, weekend getaways, and just regular commutes. It’s reliable, easy to drive, and doesn’t take much effort to keep it running.
It’s currently parked at Talybont, Ffordd Glan Mor, and I’m happy to show it around if you’re interested. I’ve never sold a car before, so if you’re thinking about it, I’d be happy to chat. Just let me know.
It’s not the most expensive car out there, but it’s one I’ve genuinely grown attached to. If you’re looking for something that’s practical, safe, and just a little bit refined—this might be it.
