I’ve had this Golf since 2004 and it’s been a solid workhorse for all my daily drives. It’s not flashy, but it’s reliable and gets around without fuss. Only 96k miles on the clock, and it’s been properly looked after – last service in April 2025, MOT valid until June 2026.

It’s a 1.6L petrol engine, manual gearbox – I love the way it feels when you’re in control. The auto lights and cruise control make long drives on the motorway way more comfortable, and the touchscreen is still working well, even after all these years. The interior lighting gives a nice touch when it’s dark.

There are a few small signs of age, like a bit of scuffing on the doors, but nothing major. It’s not a show car, just a dependable little hatchback that handles city driving and weekend trips just fine.

I’m moving to Weston-super-mare, North Somerset, and I’m keeping it for myself, but I’ve thought about letting it go. It’s still running well, and I’ve got a bit of spare cash after the move, so if you’re looking for something solid and not too fancy, this might be your kind of car.
