VW T4 hi-top van

Description

Got this old VW T4 hi-top van sitting in my garden in Studley, Stratford-on-Avon — I bought it second hand back in 2008 and it’s been my trusty workhorse ever since. I’m the second owner from new, and it’s had a fair bit of life — from France to the Lake District, bits in between, you name it.

It’s fully insulated, ply-lined, and carpeted, with that classic rock and roll bed. The interior’s still solid, and I’ve kept it well cared for with all the paperwork from when it was new.

That said, it’s starting to show its age. When you press the gas, there’s a little tick — not loud, just a vibration — and it doesn’t quite get as quick as it used to. On hills, it can feel a bit sluggish, and there are some creaks and groans, especially when it’s loaded. I’m not a mechanic, so I don’t know if it’s fixable or just a matter of time.

I’ve had it for about 14 years, and it’s been reliable, but honestly? I think it’s time to hand it over. I’m not looking for a lot — just someone who wants to take it on and make their own memories with it. It’s not perfect, but it’s a solid, classic van, and I’m happy to keep the price at £3,150 if someone’s interested. Open to offers.
