2013 Mini Cooper JCW R56

So, I’ve been driving this little beast for over a decade now, and it’s honestly one of the most fun cars I’ve ever owned. It’s a genuine John Cooper Works – not a modified Cooper S, which is a big deal to me. You can actually see the difference in the styling and the way it handles.

It’s a 2013 R56 model, and I’ve had it professionally tuned to around 300bhp via a Stage 2 setup. The turbo is from Turbo Technics (that’s a bit over a grand, but worth it), and I’ve got an Airtec Stage 2 intercooler, full AEM induction, upgraded coil packs with NGK Iridium plugs, and adjustable coilovers with lowering springs. There’s also a turbo heat shield – just a small detail, but it keeps things running smooth.

It drives like a go-kart when you want it to, and I’ve never had a single issue with it. It’s HPI clear, MOT until January 2026, and has a full service history with all the paperwork tucked away. I’ve got two keys, and the Falken performance tyres are all nearly new. Brembo discs and pads are brand new all around – I’ve had them checked recently and they’re in perfect shape.

It’s got a panoramic roof too – which is a nice touch, especially when it’s sunny.

I’ve only reluctantly decided to part with it because I’ve moved to Derbyshire, England, and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to keep it in the same place anymore. I’ve kept it clean, well-maintained, and it’s seen very little daily use – mostly weekend drives and long stretches of the road.

I’m not selling it because I don’t want to – I just can’t keep it in the same place anymore. If you’ve ever driven a JCW and felt that electric thrill, this one’s for you. It’s not flashy, but it’s got heart. And honestly? It’s still one of the best little cars I’ve ever owned.
