1967 F Morris Minor 1000 4 Dr Saloon
Description
So I’ve got this 1967 F Morris Minor 1000 4-door saloon sitting in my garage now — it’s actually been with me for a while, came in as a part-exchange, and I’ve been loving how it’s turned out. It’s Trafalgar Blue outside, with a clean blue vinyl interior — that colour combo always feels a bit special, especially on a car from that era.The body’s been kept pretty well — panel gaps are straight and even, no dents or major flaws. I don’t have receipts for the full restoration, but I’ve got a thick folder full of paperwork from 1996 onwards — MOTs, tax discs, repair notes, and even a journal of all the work done over the years. That gives it a real sense of history and provenance.
Under the hood it’s the classic A-Series 1098cc engine — known for being reliable and smooth, starts right up without any fuss, and runs quietly. It’s paired with a 4-speed manual, which feels right for the time. The wheels are the original Old English White steel ones with chrome hubcaps — still bright and tidy, no rust, just like when it was new.
The Minor was designed by Sir Alec Issigonis, who later made the Mini — so it’s kind of a spiritual predecessor to that. The unitary construction, torsion bar front suspension, and roomy interior were pretty ahead of their time back in the day. It’s still a solid car to drive, easy to maintain, and parts are still coming in fairly regularly.
I’ve had it serviced recently and it’s ready to go — I’ll even supply a new MOT and a service record for the next owner. It’s exempt from road tax and ULEZ, which makes it way easier to keep on the road.
I’m based in Caersws, Powys now — not too far from the Welsh border, just off the A40. If you’re interested, I’d love to chat. I’ll call you first to make sure I’m around when you come — I’m not always in the shop, especially when I’m off-site collecting vehicles.
It’s a clean, low-ownership example with a solid history, so it’s a good one for someone who wants a classic car that’s reliable, nostalgic, and still practical. I’d recommend using premium unleaded fuel — it helps the engine stay in good shape.
If you can’t make it to see it in person, I can arrange UK delivery — just ask. I also do exports if you’re outside the UK.
I’ll be honest — I didn’t expect to keep this one for so long, but it’s been a real joy to look after. If you’ve ever wanted a classic car that’s not flashy but still full of charm, this one’s got that.
Let me know if you’d like to take a look — happy to show you around.
