Description

So, I’ve been thinking about this for a while — food vans are seriously on the rise, and honestly, I can’t see why anyone would miss out. I’ve been running one for a few years now, and it’s been a real rollercoaster of fun and profit. My first year was a massive success, mostly thanks to the fried chicken — it just keeps going strong.

I’ve had this van since 2005, a matt black Renault Master. It’s low mileage, well-maintained, and everything’s already sorted and working — no fiddling around. It runs on either a plug or a generator, which is great for different setups. The kit’s solid: two 9kg gas bottles, water heater, double sink, fresh and waste water tanks, full electric and gas packs.

Inside, there’s a fridge, a fridge freezer, two heat lamps, and a whole lot of food prep gear — Ooni pizza oven, flat plate, Lincat Ban Marie, panini presses (single and double), two 7.5L fryers, one Parry fryer, a chip scuttle, garnish box, and three fire extinguishers. There’s even a fire blanket and a till with an EPOS machine. I’ve got gas certification level 5 and a clean hygiene rating — everything’s compliant.

I originally bought all this to offer a range of street food, but the fried chicken has taken off so much that I’ve just outgrown it. I’m not selling because I don’t want it — I’m selling because I’ve got a new plan.

It’s been in Stowmarket, Suffolk, for the past few years and I’m happy to hand it over. It’s not just a van — it’s a fully equipped, ready-to-go food business.

It’s worth over £17k in appliances alone, and I’m not asking for a lot — just £15,300. If you’re thinking of getting into the food van space, this could be your real starting point. No stress, no setup — just drive off and start selling.
