Description

Only one left now. I’m parting with my last Paul’s Scarlet Hawthorn — it’s been growing in my garden in gomersal, Kirklees for years and’s been looking absolutely gorgeous all season. It’s all in leaf now, with that deep scarlet-pink double bloom in May, and then little red berries in autumn. The leaves are dark green with a bit of sheen, turning yellow and bronze in the fall. I’ve kept it in a pretty tough spot — it’s actually grown up well in a bit of damp soil and even survives the odd wind blast. It’s a real showstopper, reaches about 5m x 4m in 20 years, and has those sharp thorns, which means it’s great for birds and insects. I’m selling it because I’ve just moved and don’t have space for another tree. It’s going for £76.50 — a real keeper, and I’ve only got one left.
