Antique Oak Barley Twist Drop Leaf Wheeled Tea Trolley
Description
Got this old tea trolley from the 1920s, sitting in my garage in Carluke, South Lanarkshire. It’s solid oak, barley twist — the kind of wood that really stands up to time. The design’s a bit rustic, with the drop leaves that lift up and the top rotating 45 degrees to support them when you want to turn it into a proper occasional table. It’s not perfect — there’s a few marks, and one small piece of wood is missing (you’ll see in the photos), but it’s still in really good condition for its age. I’ve used it a few times for tea, and it’s been a solid workhorse.
The trolley is 65cm long x 43cm wide x 73cm high, and when the leaves are out, the table expands to 95cm long x 65cm wide. I’ve kept it well-maintained, and it’s just sitting in the corner now, waiting for someone who appreciates vintage furniture.
If you’re curious, I’m happy to answer questions — no pressure, just sharing what I’ve got. Price is £108, but I’m not putting that in the title like a sales pitch. Just thought I’d share it.
