1996 Honda VFR400 NC30
Description
So I’ve been keeping this bike for years — it’s a 1996 Honda VFR400 NC30, part of a small private collection. I’ve actually ridden it a bit, mostly just to keep it alive and get some use out of it. It’s not a daily rider, more of a weekend treat. The frame number is NC301004558, and it’s been through a fair bit of care — recently had a full MOT in July 2026, so it’s in good shape. Odometer’s at 63,654 km, which isn’t bad for a bike that’s been around since '96. I’ve done a bit of cosmetic work too — swapped out the fairing, looks better now.
It’s a V5 registered, so I’ve kept the paperwork sorted. Two keys, HPI clear, no red flags. The engine’s that classic V4 with the "big bang" firing order — runs strong, smooth, and it’s got a tach that goes all the way to 14,500 rpm. The styling’s pretty distinctive — smaller headlights, silencer moved to the left, gives it that open rear look.
I remember how much I loved it when I first saw it — the way it handles, the power, the look. It’s not flashy, but it’s solid. I’ve kept it in good hands and used it occasionally as a toy, just to keep it alive.
It’s going to be at the September 2025 motorcycle auction in Newton-Aycliffe, Great Aycliffe, on the 5th — I’ll be there to answer any questions. The hammer estimate is around £3,000–3,500, with buyer’s premium, but I’m not selling it for a big price — just passing it on to someone who’ll appreciate it.
I’m not giving any guarantees — it’s a classic, not a showroom piece — but if you’re into bikes with real character and a bit of history, this one might be for you.
If you’re interested, I’ll be there to chat. No fuss, no sales pitch — just a real bike, with real history.
