MG ZS EV Exclusive 44.5kWh 2021
Description
I’ve had this MG ZS EV Exclusive for a few years now and it’s been a solid little car — not flashy, but actually quite practical. It’s the top trim, so it comes with that electric panoramic roof, which is a nice touch when you're out in the open. It’s a 2021 model with a 44.5kWh battery, which gives you a range of about 163 to 263 km depending on conditions. The motor’s 105kW (143hp) and pulls 353 Nm of torque — not the most powerful, but it gets you from 0 to 100 in 8.5 seconds, which is actually pretty decent for a small EV. Top speed’s capped at 140km/h, which is fine for everyday use.
It’s front-wheel drive with a single-speed auto gearbox — simple, no fuss. The interior has faux leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the rear seat folds down in a 60/40 split, so you can fit more stuff when needed. The boot’s 470 litres, which is good for weekend trips or just carrying groceries.
I’ve used it mostly for local trips around Bransholme, Hull, and it’s been reliable. The regen braking helps keep range up, and the battery’s liquid-cooled, so it stays stable even in hot weather. Charging’s straightforward — with a 7kW charger it takes about 10.5 hours to go from 0 to 100%, and with a 50kW charger you can hit 10% to 0 to 80% in just under an hour. At 100kW, it’s down to 42 minutes for that stretch.
The 10.1-inch screen supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and it’s got rear sensors and a reversing camera. I’ve used it a lot for daily commutes and weekend drives — it’s not a luxury car, but it’s a real deal for someone who wants a quiet, efficient, all-electric SUV.
It’s been well-maintained, and I’ve only driven it about 45,000 km so far. I’m moving house and it’s time to part with it — I’ve actually been using it as a weekend getaway car, so I’m not selling it because I don’t need it, just because I’m down to a smaller car now.
It’s a bit of a niche model, but if you’re into practical EVs with a bit of style, this one’s worth a look. The price is £11,025, which I’m happy to part with — just don’t expect it to be a showstopper.
(Still in Bransholme, Hull if you’re local and want to see it.)
