Got this Ridgeback Vista bike sitting in my garage in Winkleigh, Torridge District – it’s a solid ladies’ Dutchy/hybrid/commuter, blue, and I just had it properly serviced. The frame’s high tensil steel, steel forks, and it’s got that extra small 38cm wheel (15 inch), so it’s not too big for smaller riders.

It’s got Shimano Tourney 6x3=18 speed gears with two different grip shifters, a bell, high-rise quill stem, pull-back moustache bars, and a Suntour XR triple crank with chain guard. The pedals are resin town ones, and the brakes are Promax cast alloy V-brakes – new rear brake blocks and solid alloy levers. Seatpost is alloy, with the original comfy double sprung saddle (there’s a bit of wear, just a few small tears).

Wheels are 700c double-walled alloy with Continental contact tyres, mudguards are full wrap-around chromo plastic, and there’s a rear pannier rack and a rear light. It’s all set up and ready to ride – no modifications, just clean and functional.

I’ve only got it for a few weeks now and I’m happy with how it’s turned out. It’s not the most flashy, but it’s reliable and gets me around town without any fuss.

Price is £171 – I’ve kept it low because it’s been well looked after and I’m not looking to sell it to anyone who just wants a quick ride.
