This is the actual dress and hat from a 1940s evacuee girl collection I found in a box at home in St-Austell, Cornwall. The dress is a bit worn, with some patching and faded colours, but it’s still in decent shape and fits well on a child. The hat has a little fraying at the brim, but it’s the kind of thing you’d see in a local museum or school history display. I’ve kept it in a storage box for years, just in case someone wanted to use it for a history project or a school play. It’s not fancy, just a real piece from that time.
