Description

I’ve got this 1946 Harley-Davidson EL petrol manual on the block — it’s one of those early models that’s been around since the 1930s, and it’s actually a real gem. Harley’s been making bikes since 1903, started in Milwaukee, and these ELs were the bridge between older models and the later FLs. The 1946 version was a step up from the 1935 one — bumped to 74ci, got a recirculating oil system, and a speedo on the tank.

This one’s a very late example, and it’s been restored fairly recently to run well and look solid. No frame number because pre-1970 frames weren’t stamped — that’s normal for the era. It’s been owned by a real Harley fan for years and comes with a full history file. I’ve kept it registered in the UK with a current V5C, and it was previously registered overseas. There’s also a safety belt pretensioner fitted — not factory original, but something I’ve added for peace of mind.

It’s going to be part of the Iconic Motorcycle Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show in Birmingham on Sunday, 9th November — that’s the one at the NEC, B40 1NT. I’m not selling it to just anyone, it’s a piece of motorcycle history that’s rare and really well preserved. Price is £27,000 — that’s not going to change, but I’m just sharing it as a real person who’s been riding and caring for these bikes for a while.

If you’re into vintage Harleys, this one’s worth a look. It’s not flashy, it’s not new — but it’s honest, it’s original, and it runs. Largs, North Ayrshire.
