Description

It's with a heavy heart that it looks like I'm going to have to sell my 2000 Ford Explorer. With me getting my Corvette back and the Mrs getting a new car, there's no need/space for the car anymore. I've owned the car since Dec 2022 and when I got it, it was an absolute pig. The amount of work and money I've spent on it has gotten it to a decent standard. I'll list the bits I've replaced: New brakes and discs all round last year and a new front calliper fitted this year. Android/Apple car play head unit that's been fitted. Tyres replaced 18 month ago and still in good nick. Front shock absorbers, upper control arms, drop links, ball joints all fitted. Rear shock absorbers (self levelling ones) rear drop links and axle damper. New MAF sensor, IAC, upper and lower intake gaskets, blower resistor. Spark plugs and leads. Water pump and fan clutch. Thermostat and coolant change. Transmission oil and filter. Rear wiper motor and blades. New exhaust. Cruise control switches replaced. Rear diff oil and gasket done. MOT clean until next June. Pulls well through all gears. 4x4 High and Low range. All gas struts to the bonnet and rear glass been replaced. Drivers door actuator replaced. Passenger wing mirror replaced. Oil and filter change 10/08/2025 Bad bits: Please remember it's a 25 year old car, so some age related marks inside and out, rust etc. Nothing that hampers the day to day running of the car. It will not ride like a new car please bear this in mind, 90% of the suspension has been changed but it's still a bit floaty. The drivers seat adjuster handle has snapped off (common problem) will get it welded again if I have the time. Air con got re gassed, it worked for a week then seems to not work, the compressor works so maybe a leak, hasn't really bothered me. The indicator stalk is a little bit temperamental, I've replaced with a new one but for some reason the new one makes the wipers stay on so I put the old one back in. Towbar not checked, will probably work, but again never used it. There's a little dent in the boot lid, was like that when I got the car, will try and pull it out. The car will come with loads of spare bits and bobs i.e hubcaps, ball joints, fuel filter, brake pads, rear view mirror and some other minor bits. Set of lower control arms (cost £300) I'm sure I've missed bits so any questions, just ask.
