Description

So, I’ve been riding this Holdsworth for years — it’s one of those rare 1980s road racing bikes that got converted into a hybrid adventure rig. I picked it up back when it was still a pure road machine, and over time, I gave it a proper upgrade: Campagnolo shifters, Shimano crank, new brakes, and levers. The tyres are gravel tan, 35mm, which makes it way more comfortable on mixed terrain. I even added a front mech cable snap — it’s a small thing, but it’s a real improvement when you’re riding off-road.

It’s been properly maintained and still runs smooth. I live in Abingdon, Vale of White Horse, so if you’re local and just looking for something with character and a bit of history, this one’s for you. I’ve actually only used it a few times a year, mostly for weekend rides — it’s not flashy, but it’s got real soul.

If you’re into vintage bikes that still work well, and you don’t mind a little bit of character over polish, this might be your kind of ride. Price is £252, but I’m not going to say that in the title — just figured I’d mention it in case you’re thinking about it.
