Description
I’ve had this Yvette Creation dress for years – it’s a black strapless evening dress from the 60s or 70s, made in West Germany. The fabric is 65% viscose and 35% polyester, which gives it a soft, slightly vintage drape. It’s size EUR 40, which is about a UK 12, though I think it runs a bit smaller than that in modern sizing – probably closer to a UK 10.When laid flat, it’s about 42cm from armpit to armpit, and the waist is around 36cm – not super tight, just a nice, elegant fit. It’s lined and has a zip at the back with a faux diamond clasp. The length is about 125cm, so it’s quite long for an evening dress.
I’m moving to Dursley, Stroud, so I’m not keeping it in the old place. It’s been stored carefully, not worn much – just a few times when I wanted to feel fancy. I’m not looking for much, just passing it on to someone who might actually enjoy wearing it. It’s a solid piece, not flashy, but has that classic French touch.
It’s sitting in a drawer right now, not in storage – I’ve been meaning to part with it for a while. Price is £76.50 if you're interested.
