I’ve had this 2016 Ford Ecosport Zetec for just over a decade now — it’s been my main car through a lot of changes, from commuting to weekend trips around Surrey. It’s a solid, reliable little hatchback with a 1.0-litre petrol engine that’s quick and smooth, and it’s been running well with just one owner. The Euro 6 compliance means it’s clean and quiet on the road, which I’ve appreciated, especially in the city.

I’ve never needed to replace the engine or major bits — just regular servicing. The fuel economy is actually pretty good for a small SUV, hitting around 52 mpg, which means I’ve never had to worry about filling up too often. Insurance’s kept low too, and the CO2 is low — I’ve always been mindful of that.

It’s got the Zetec trim, so it’s well equipped with decent features for a car this size. I’ve kept it tidy and maintained it properly over the years.
