I’ve had this Mountfield Pro mower for years and it’s been a real workhorse for my garden in Colyton, East Devon. It’s a 21” alloy deck with a 4-speed self-drive system and a solid 196cc OHV engine – starts up every time and runs smoothly. I’ve had it serviced and the blades have been sharpened, so it’s in great shape.

The cutting deck is heavy-duty cast aluminium, doesn’t rust, and handles all kinds of terrain. The 4-speed self-propel system means it’s easy to push up slopes and uneven ground – really helps when you’ve got a hilly yard. You can adjust the cutting height from 9 settings with just a simple lever, and the ball bearing wheels roll like a dream.

The handlebars fold up, which is handy when storing it or moving it around. Comes with a big grass bag too.

If you’re interested, I’d be happy to show it in person or do a quick test run. I’m not putting it on the market just to sell – I’ve actually moved house and it’s time to upgrade. I’m thinking of keeping it as a backup or maybe passing it on to someone who’ll actually use it properly. Price’s £405, but if you’re looking for something reliable and well-maintained, this one’s been through a lot and still runs like a charm.
