Description

I’m selling my Red Oak tree — it’s a real standout. The leaves turn a gorgeous red in autumn, with yellow and bronze hints, which is why it’s called Quercus rubra. The foliage is thick and deeply lobed, giving it a strong, full look. In spring, it puts out catkins that bees love, and once pollinated, it produces acorns that squirrels and other wildlife go wild for. The tree has a wide, rounded crown that’s great for birds to nest in. It grows fairly fast and can reach about 10m tall and 8m wide in 20 years. It’s tough — just needs well-drained soil, no lime, and can handle sun or partial shade. I’ve had it in my garden in Hawes, North Yorkshire for years and it’s grown beautifully. It’s a solid, reliable tree, and honestly, it’s one of the best I’ve seen. Price is £85.50 — just asking because I’ve been thinking about moving it to a new spot.
