I’ve been doing my own accounting for a while now, and I’ve actually worked with a few local firms over the years. One of them, a small accounting practice in ledbury, Herefordshire, offers solid, straightforward services at fixed prices — no surprises.

They do personal tax returns and self-assessment forms starting at £75, company accounts filing with Companies House and CT600 with HMRC from £100, and bookkeeping with VAT returns for £25 per quarter. Payroll is £10 a month, CIS is £5 a month. Company setup or closure is £50. Registrations for self-employment, VAT, and PAYE are £25 — free to regular clients.

I’m not a chartered accountant, but I’ve used their services and they’ve been pretty reliable. The prices are low, and they’re transparent — no hidden charges. If you’re doing your own books or running a small business, it might be worth checking them out.
