Description

I’ve been keeping this Peugeot Equipe bike in my garage for years — it’s not just a bike, it’s a real piece of vintage cycling history. I got it from the original owner who bought it nearly 40 years ago and kept it in his shed for most of that time. It’s been properly restored, but with a real focus on staying true to the original — no major swaps, just deep cleaning and care.

The frame is large (62cm), made from Peugeot’s proprietary Carbolite103 steel — light, strong, and that classic French build. I cleaned it as much as I could without touching the original paint, and gave it a clear coat to protect it and give it that shiny, fresh look. It feels super light and zips along — you can really feel how fast it is when you’re riding it.

It’s got 10 speeds, chrome Rigida 700c wheels that are polished and shiny with no pitting, Continental Gatorskin 25mm tyres, and proper gear setup — 52-38t front chainrings, 14-32t freewheel. The shifters are down tube friction type, Weinmann calliper brakes with double levers, and the stem and seat post are all original. I’ve got new-ish Selle Italia Turbo saddle fitted — feels great.

All bearings have been cleaned and re-greased, and they’re smooth with no play. The whole thing has been taken apart, cleaned, and reassembled with care. It’s not just looking good — it’s actually quick and lively. I’ve ridden it around the roads near Goffs-Oak, Broxbourne, and it’s been a joy.

It’s not just a bike — it’s a bit of a time capsule. I’ve kept it in one place for decades, and it’s still running strong. If you’re into vintage bikes and want something that feels alive, this one might just be your kind of ride.

I’m based in Goffs-Oak, Broxbour, and happy to answer any questions — just ask. I’ve got it ready to go if you’re interested. It’s a solid £198, but I’m not going to say that in the title. Just wanted to share it with someone who might actually enjoy riding it.
