I’m parting ways with my 2014 Mercedes E-Class 2.1 diesel AMG Sport coupe — it’s been a solid driver for years and has a clean history. It’s black, so it looks sharp and stays hidden in the sun. The AMG Sport trim gives it that sporty edge, and the 2.1-litre diesel engine runs smoothly, not too loud, not too thirsty. Inside, it’s got Nappa leather that feels great, and the tech is pretty solid — reversing camera, parking assist, tyre pressure monitor, and that SplitView thing on the COMAND system, which is a real help when parking. The 18-inch AMG 5-spoke alloys are sharp and match the overall vibe.

It gets from 0 to 62 in about 7.3 seconds — not a rocket, but definitely quicker than most in its class. Feels more connected to the road than a regular E-Class. The boot’s roomy enough for a couple of big bags or a full load of groceries. I’ve only driven it a few hundred miles since the last service, and it’s been well looked after.
