Vintage French Louis XV Style Solid Oak Double Bed Frame

I’ve had this bed frame for a few years now — it’s one of those pieces that just feels special, even after all the years. It’s a genuine French Louis XV style, solid oak with a beautiful figured grain, especially in the curved headboard, sides, and footboard. The carvings are subtle but there — hand-carved at the feet and sides, which gives it that classic antique vibe.

I’ve gone through it carefully: cleaned it properly, gave it a light hand oil to bring out the wood’s natural sheen, and it’s in great shape for its age. There are a few small chips, dents, and scratches — you can see them if you look closely — but nothing that affects how it works or looks in a room. No structural issues at all.

It’s a double size bed frame, so it’ll fit a mattress up to 140cm wide (EU double). It doesn’t come with a base — you’ll need to add your own, like slats or a divan base. Assembly is straightforward, and it’s been dismantled and ready to go — just put it back together when you’re ready.

I picked it up from a vintage dealer in France a few months ago — it was shipped over, so it’s been in storage since then. Now it’s in my home in northallerton, North Yorkshire.
