Description
This half penny is from 1967 and has the classic design by Thomas Humphrey Paget. The back shows Sir Francis Drake’s Golden Hind, and the front has the young Queen Elizabeth II’s bust with the usual 'ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F:D' legend around it. It was only really in use until 1969, when it got demonetised before we moved to decimal currency. I’ve had it in my collection for a while, and it’s been circulating in its original form — just like it was meant to. Photos are attached, so you can see what it looks like. It’s a bit of a rare find from that era. Price is £1.35 — not a lot, but it’s a real piece of history. Postage if needed is extra, though.
