Description

Got this old tea cup and saucer from the 1920s – Royal Grafton, pattern 5561. The design is cream with hand-painted birch trees and yellow buttercups, going from the cup to the saucer. It’s got a butter yellow body with green edging, and the inside has a simple green line. Looks like it’s from around 1927 – I’ve seen a bigger set with a moonlight birch theme on eBay that’s the same year, so this might be a smaller version. All painted by hand, classic Art Deco style. In excellent condition, no cracks or chips, just a bit of normal wear. Dimensions: cup top is 3 3/8 inches across, handle width 4 inches, base 1 3/4 inches, height 2 7/8 inches. Saucer is 5 3-8 inches wide, 1 inch tall. It’s from the CB1 1LH or CB21 Fulbourn area in Prestatyn, Denbighshire. I’ve kept it in a drawer for years, just never really used it – now it’s time to find a new home. Price is £8.99 if you’re interested.
