Andy Warhol Diaries 1989 First Edition
Description
I’ve had this book for years — it’s the 1989 first edition of Andy Warhol’s Diaries, published by Simon & Schuster. I found it at a secondhand shop years ago and kept it because I’ve always been a fan of Warhol’s work. It’s a real first edition, not a reprint, and the pages are clean, though the cover has a bit of wear — like it’s been handled a lot, which is fair given how much people talk about it.It’s basically a diary of Warhol’s life, written by him and edited by Pat Hackett. The full version was 20,000 pages, but this one is condensed to 807 pages and covers the period from November 1976 to just days before he died in 1987. It’s a pretty raw look at his thoughts and daily life — kind of like reading a personal journal from a legend.
It’s not perfect — the cover shows some scratches and age, but the inside is still in great shape. I’ve seen prices online ranging quite a bit, so I’m selling it at £40.50 because I’m moving and need to clear some space. I’m based in Roslin, Midlothian, and postage is tracked and returns are free — just ask if you want to see a photo before you decide.
I’m not selling it for the money, really — it’s more that I’ve got a lot of old books and I just don’t need to keep them all. Thought someone might find it interesting.
