Vintage PUCH commuter bike, checked and serviced, ready to ride
Description
So, I’ve been keeping this old PUCH bike for a while now — built in the 80s in Austria, classic steel frame, 5-speed, alloy wheels. It’s a proper vintage road bike, not fancy or shiny, but it’s solid and actually works great for daily commutes.I took it to the workshop at Bow Wharf, right next to PureGym, on Grove Road, London E3. They did a full check — brakes and gears are all good, bottom bracket was replaced recently, and it’s been adjusted to ride smoothly. The paint’s a bit patchy with scratches and rust, which honestly makes it look like it’s been lived in, but that’s also kind of funny — no one’s gonna try to steal it because it looks like it’s from a movie set.
It’s a light, comfy Dutch-style handlebar, 700c wheels, tyres are 700x32, and it fits someone around 170–175cm. I’ve actually tested it on the bike workshop floor — it’s stable, responsive, and gets you from A to B just like a new bike would.
It’s been sitting in Longhope, Orkney Islands, so if you’re in the area or nearby, I can sort a ride or drop it off. I’ve kept it clean and in good shape, just like I’d want to keep my own ride.
Price is £108 — not much, honestly, for a bike that’s been through the decades. Sold as seen. No frills, just a real, working piece of history.
