2003 Yamaha YBA 125 Custom Cruiser
Description
So this bike has a real story. My mum bought it brand new in 2003, put it in the garage, and never really got around to riding it. Then in 2010, she met a new boyfriend. By 2012, he said he couldn’t look at the old 125 in the shed anymore — “I’m not riding this,” he said. She replied, “Only if you come with me.” So off they went on a ride. After two rides, they both said, “This isn’t for us.” Back to the shed they went — and now, after a full recommissioning in 2025, it’s back in good shape. What’s been done? New tyres and tubes, tank flushed, carburetor replaced, oil changed, new spark plug, new battery, and a fresh MOT until August 2026. Simple setup — no fancy electronics, just a solid carburetor and a small CDI unit. Same engine as the SR125, and it’s a real gentle machine with a user-friendly 4-speed gearbox — perfect if you’re still getting used to shifting.
It’s had a bit of storage wear — like a small crack on the rear panel on the left side, and the rear fender’s split into three pieces. But it doesn’t affect how it runs at all. Everything’s still in working order. It even comes with the original tool kit and factory owners’ handbook.
Classic insurance — some insurers will cover it because it’s over 20 years old, though most require it to be 20+ years old to qualify. I’m only collecting from near Glasgow, Scotland — no offers, just a private sale. It’s not fancy, but it’s a solid, honest bike with a real history behind it.
