Rustins Heat Resistant Quick Drying Black Paint 250ml or 500ml
Description
I’ve got this Rustins heat-resistant black paint — 250ml or 500ml — and I’m letting it go. It’s water-based, low VOC, and made from a self-cross-linking acrylic resin, so it dries fast and covers well on both wood and metal. Works great indoors and outdoors. It’s a matt finish, so it doesn’t shine, and it can handle heat up to 220°C — perfect for things like metal trim or outdoor furniture. I’ve used it on a few projects around the house and it’s held up well.
Easy to use — just stir it well before applying, and clean brushes with water. If they’ve dried, a quick wipe with Rustins Brush Restorer or Strypit will get them back to life.
Important thing: Don’t use it on wood-burning stoves — that’s a no-go. Also, surfaces need to be clean, dry, and free from grease or wax. If there’s rust, I’d go for Rustins Rust Remover first, and if it’s bare wood, a primer goes ahead of the paint.
Covered about 12–14m² per litre with one coat, depending on how absorbent the surface is.
It’s been sitting in my shed in Barrowford, Borough of Pendle for a while now — just a bit of paint I don’t use much anymore. I’ve only used it a few times, so it’s in good shape.
If you’re looking for a reliable, easy-to-use black paint that dries fast and holds up to heat, this might just be what you need. Price is £8.10 — not much, really.
