Antique Exotic Mahogany Chest of Drawers with Original Handles
Description
This old-school mahogany chest of drawers is a real gem – it’s a solid George III piece from around 1830, built with craftsmanship that shows through every curve and joint. It’s a three-over-three design with all the original turned handles, which still work perfectly. The drawers glide smoothly and don’t stick, which is a big plus for something this old. It’s stood on its original bun feet, which gives it that classic, grounded look, and it’s a nice size – about 108cm high, 106cm wide, and 50cm deep. It’s been in my family for generations and has seen a fair bit of use, so there are some light marks and a few small dents, but nothing that affects how it looks or functions.
I’ve kept it in a good spot for years, and it’s in very solid condition for its age. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely not a showpiece with a flaw list – just a lovely piece that adds real character to any room, whether it’s Georgian, Victorian, or a modern home.
I live in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, so if you’re local and want to see it in person, I’m happy to arrange a view. I’m not taking it to a showroom – it’s just sitting in my house, and I’m happy to show it off.
If you’ve got any questions, just give me a ring. I’ve got a few other things in the same style if you're interested.
P.S. It’s worth noting it’s vintage – no price tag, just a real piece of furniture with history. I’ll keep the photos handy so you can see the details for yourself.
